Sudden illness: Engle Road & Glenway Drive

A Parma man, 44, was found overdosing at about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12 on the side of Engle Road.

The man was lying on the ground, hunched over and unresponsive. Police recognized the man from a similar incident earlier that day. After they called his name several times, the man raised his head, but was disoriented.

The man’s hands were wounded, possible from injecting needles. He was carrying two hypodermic needles, a glass pipe and other paraphernalia commonly used to ingest heroin.

The man was taken to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights.

Police found a Cleveland man, 36, overdosing at about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11 in a car parked outside Corrigan Moving Systems, 13900 Keystone.

The man had passed out in the car and was having trouble breathing. The car was locked, so police broke the driver’s-side window to get inside.

Paramedics administered Narcan, a heroin-overdose antidote, and the man woke up. He was taken to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights.

Police found several bags of white powder and pills in the man’s car.
