Once again, it's shaping up to a beautiful weekend for a road trip in Mid-Michigan! Or maybe you'd prefer to stay closer to home? We found stuff for you to do too.

Here's a look at some fun events happening within a two-hour drive of Lansing this weekend:

The Elsie Dairy Festival is happening July 7th through 9th in Clinton County. Food, rides, live entertainment and more are planned all three days. A highlight is sure to be the Elsie Area Fire Department's Light Parade on Friday night.

Just this side of Grand Rapids, it's the Lowell Riverwalk Festival July 7th through the 9th. Highlights of this event along the Flat River in downtown Lowell include a ducky derby, a classic car show, and fireworks Saturday night.

Just outside Ann Arbor, it's the Saline Celtic Festival. More than a weekend of Irish-themed song and dance, this event is in its 25th year and also boasts pirate fights, competition jousting, and circus shows. It's happening Friday and Saturday, July 8th and 9th. Don't miss the "Mr. Pretty Legs in a Kilt" competition Friday night.

On Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday (July 8-9), Scrapfest 12 is being held in Old Town Lansing along Turner Street between East Cesar Chavez Avenue and Beaver Street. Several artist teams have recycled scrap metal into beautiful works of art. Billed as a "full repurpose-focused art festival", this event also features food and live entertainment along with fun for the whole family.

Friends of the Alley are holding Alley Fest 2022 in downtown Flint's Buckham Alley on Saturday, July 9th. This event features live entertainment, retail vendors, a beer tent and more, with a mission to beautify and preserve the alleys of Flint's downtown area.

The Eaton County Fair in Charlotte doesn't officially get underway until next week, but this weekend offers a sneak preview with a harness horse race and horse pulls on Saturday (July 9) and a rodeo Sunday evening (July 10).

If you find yourself in the Metro Detroit area this weekend, there are several events that might interest you.

Plymouth is holding its annual Art in the Park festival July 8th through the 10th. Billed as the second-largest art festival in Michigan, this event features more than 400 vendors from all around the country "offering paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, glass, woodwork, photography, folk art and much more". Food and live entertainment abound as well.

The 21st Annual Michigan ElvisFest is being held Friday evening and all day Saturday (July 8-9) at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Belleville. Exactly what you think it is.

Saturday and Sunday (July 9-10), Lake Orion's Canterbury Village will host its Cowboys & Cowgirls Festival. Take a trip to the Wild West with cowboy stunt shows, mechanical bull rides and more! This event features plenty of kids' activities as well.
